21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING
We are excited to kick off 2026 with a focused 21-Day Season of Prayer and Fasting! This practice is a vital part of the Christian life, perfectly modeled by Jesus Himself. In Matthew 4, Jesus spent 40 days in solitude, praying and fasting to prepare for His earthly ministry.
The purpose of His fast was to cultivate three essential things:
Total reliance and dependence on God.
A spirit of repentance and humility.
A genuine, pure heart.
While fasting is often defined as abstaining from food or water, we are inviting you to participate in a fast that mirrors Jesus's spiritual goals, not just His method.
Ask God to reveal what you might give up during this season to deepen your reliance on Him. This could mean abstaining from:
Specific foods or meals
Social media or entertainment
A negative habit or time-waster
Fasting is most effective when it leads you toward greater intentional prayer and moments of solitude with God.
Our Goal: Unification. Whether this is your first experience with fasting or you feel like an expert, we invite you to join us for these 21 days. Together, as the body of Christ, we are preparing for the incredible things God has in store for our neighborhood, city, and beyond in 2026. This is an opportunity to unify and embrace God’s calling together!

Galatians 6:9-10 " And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith."
Pray and ask God to instill in you a fresh passion for good works. Reflect on areas where you feel weary or tempted to quit. Commit to looking for tangible opportunities to serve others for His glory, trusting in the promise that the fruit of your labor will be reaped in due time.
-
Isaiah 43:25 “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.”
Meditate on the truth that through Jesus, your sins are not just forgiven, but forgotten. Praise God for the radical mercy that removes all condemnation. Pray for the grace to fully rest in this redemption, and specifically ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to extend that healing forgiveness to yourself and to anyone who has hurt you.
-
Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Acknowledge your calling to live "sent." Pray for divine appointments and the courage to be a bold witness in your everyday life—at work, in your neighborhood, and with your family. Ask God to use you specifically as an instrument to share the good news, build His Kingdom, and help others receive eternal life.
-
Psalm 121:1-2 "I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."
Shift your focus away from your problems and onto the Almighty God, the Creator, the Deliverer, the Victor over death. In the middle of your current storm, look to Him and find peace. Pray for forgiveness for times you've relied on your own strength, and ask for renewed comfort and security in His protective promises.
-
Joshua 3:5 "Then Joshua said to the people, 'Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.'"
Surrender your heart fully to the Lord today. Pray that the Holy Spirit would align your desires perfectly with God's will and purify your intentions. Ask God to prepare you in every way, mind, body, and spirit, to step forward in trust and obedience so you can be ready to see and participate in the wonders He is about to do.
-
Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Dream big and bring your largest petitions to God. Pray with an expectation that He is able to do immeasurably more (Eph 3:20) than you can ask or imagine. Ask for His immense, transformative power to be at work in you, and resolve that every overflow will result in all glory being given back to Him.
-
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Identify the path ahead that feels unclear or intimidating. Pray specifically for the courage to take the next step. Remind yourself that the Lord goes before you, strengthens you, and upholds you. Ask for the ability to silence doubt and walk boldly in the faith and leading He has provided.
-
Psalm 103:1-5 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."
Take a few minutes to bless God's holy name with everything that is within you. Pray for a continuous, active memory of His goodness to fill your heart with gratitude and praise throughout the day.
-
Galatians 2:20-21 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose."
Give thanks that your identity is now defined by Christ's resurrection, not your old life. Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you are still relying on personal striving instead of surrender and rest in Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to use your life as fertile ground for the visible growth of the Fruit of the Spirit in all you do.
-
James 1:5-8 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
Acknowledge God as your generous Father who delights to give good gifts, especially wisdom. Lay down your own plans, need for control, or desired outcomes. Pray for the Holy Spirit to clarify any confusion and guard your heart as you choose to trust that He is faithful, hears you, and will provide exactly what you need today.
-
Colossians 2:6-7 "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
Pray earnestly that Jesus would root you deeply in the truth of His word and His presence so that you are unshakable, regardless of the circumstances around you. Ask the Holy Spirit to make you profoundly aware of His presence and cultivate a heart of thankfulness for the grace and hope you have received in Him.

Psalm 16 "Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, 'You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.' As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight. The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take their names upon my lips. The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Thank God for being your secure refuge and your eternal portion/inheritance. Pray for the discipline to commit to setting Him before all other things today. Ask for a deep joy and peace to fill you as you choose to rest securely in Him alone, recognizing Him as your Counselor and unshakable foundation.
-
Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
Jeremiah 32:27 "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?"
Come before the Lord with boldness and bring Him those prayers you may be afraid to utter or have stopped praying out of discouragement. Pray with a faith that steps out, knowing you are leaning into the God of the universe who will answer. Commit to trusting His perfect timing and sovereign will above your own.
-
Psalm 139:1-5 "O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me."
Humble yourself before your Father. Pray for the courage and vulnerability to sit at His feet in full transparency, hiding nothing of your thoughts, fears, or struggles. Ask the Holy Spirit to expose any area of pride or control and lead your heart into full surrender to His authority.
-
Psalm 95:1-7 “Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.”
Pray for a heart that instinctively worships and is focused on gratitude throughout the day. Ask God to help you actively deploy gratitude as a spiritual weapon whenever anxiety or negative thoughts arise, strengthening your faith and helping you resist the enemy's attacks.
-
Ezra 8:21 "Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and all our goods."
Pray specifically for the protection, safety, and well-being of your family, loved ones, children, and grandchildren, especially those traveling. Ask God to guide them, and pray that the desire of their hearts would be to seek and trust Him in every place they go and in everything they do.
-
Philippians 4:6–7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Rest in the powerful truth that God knows and holds tomorrow, and He has everything under control. Lay down your anxieties and worry. Pray that the Lord would flood your heart and mind with a supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding, reassuring you that He has already won the victory.
-
Romans 12:1–2 "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
Pray for a renewed spirit of worship, dedicating yourself as a living sacrifice to Him. Commit to taking intentional time for God each day so that your faith truly grows and transforms your character.
-
Isaiah 40:31 "but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
Thank God for the promise that as you wait on Him, your strength will be renewed. Pray to consciously release every feeling of weariness, weakness, and exhaustion into His hands. Ask for the spiritual and physical stamina to soar like eagles, running without growing tired in the specific calling He has for you.
-
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 "So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen."
Pray for a transcendent perspective. Though you may feel physical or momentary weakness, fix your eyes on the eternal, unseen things God is preparing. Ask Him to use your current troubles, however slight or brief, to achieve a powerful and lasting work of glory in your life, helping you endure by faith.
-
Joel 2:12-13 ““Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents from punishing."
Pray for a genuine, heart-rending repentance that comes from a deep inner change, not just outward conformity. Thank God for being merciful and abounding in steadfast love. Commit to carrying the spiritual habits (prayer, study, intimacy) you are building long after this time is complete, seeking Him daily.
